Part 1: Colonial Beauty and Water Adventures

Day 1: Granada - The pearl of the colonial era

Our journey begins in the historic heart of Nicaragua: Granada. After a brief introduction, you'll be taken on a walking tour of the city, where you'll discover the vibrant culture and stories behind its colorful architecture. After lunch, we'll take a boat tour of Las Isletas, an archipelago of over 360 volcanic islets in Lake Nicaragua. Here you'll enjoy dinner and a breathtaking sunset on one of the islands.

Day 2: Granada - Volcanic majesty

After a Nica-style breakfast, we'll take a beautiful hike on the Mombacho Volcano, one of the country's few cloud forests. The hike is filled with unique flora and fauna and offers spectacular views. In the afternoon, we'll relax at the crystal-clear crater lake of Laguna de Apoyo, where you can swim and enjoy the sun and tranquility.

Day 3-4: The mystical archipelago

Early in the morning, we'll travel to Solentiname, a remote and artistic archipelago in Lake Nicaragua. Along the way, we'll explore the Los Guatuzos Nature Reserve, a paradise for nature lovers. On Solentiname, you'll dive deep into the local culture, visit artisans, and learn about the special history of the island community. On Day 4, we'll travel to the lively coastal town of San Juan del Sur, where we'll watch the sunset from the iconic Christ of Mercy statue.

Day 5: The Pacific vibes

Today is all about the Pacific Ocean. We'll start with a visit to the beautiful Playa Hermosa before diving into the world of the sea on a catamaran tour. Onboard, you'll enjoy food, drinks, and the warm sea breeze while watching for dolphins and a stunning sunset.

Day 6: Ometepe – The island of two volcanoes

After a relaxing morning in San Juan del Sur, we'll travel to the island of Ometepe, famous for its two majestic volcanoes that rise from the lake. We'll cross on the ferry and, upon arrival, explore the island's serene beaches and enjoy the view from Punta Santa María.

Part 2: Volcanic Earth and Highlands

Day 7: Ometepe - Nature and culture

Today is dedicated to the flavors and landscapes of Ometepe. We'll visit an ecolodge for a Chocolate Tour, where you'll learn the entire process from cacao bean to bar. Afterward, we'll get in a kayak and explore the tranquil mangroves, where we might spot monkeys and exotic birds.

Day 8-9: Popoyo's gold

From Ometepe, we'll travel to the iconic surf beaches of Popoyo. On the way, we'll stop at Ojo de Agua, a natural spring with mineral-rich water, for a refreshing swim. In Popoyo, you'll have a full day to enjoy the sun, surf, relax with yoga, or simply embrace the tranquility of the coast.

Day 10-11: The mountains call

Our journey continues to the lush mountains of Matagalpa. Along the way, we'll visit the artisan markets and the impressive viewpoint of Catarina. In Matagalpa, you'll dive deep into the world of coffee and learn about daily life on the plantations. The next day, we'll travel further into the mountains and spend the night in a cozy cabin, surrounded by coffee plantations.

Day 12-14: Canyons and cigars

Today is dedicated to the Macizo volcano, where we'll hike through the cloud forest and enjoy breathtaking views. After visiting Nicaragua's first and only strawberry plantation, we'll travel to Somoto. The next day, an epic adventure awaits: canyoning in the Somoto Canyon, where you'll swim, hike, and climb rocks. The trip ends in Estelí, the cigar capital of the country, where you'll learn all about the art of tobacco.
