Itinerary in detail

Day 1: Arrival in the Highlands

Our adventure begins early with a scenic drive to the famous Selva Negra Ecolodge. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on a farm or coffee tour, learning about sustainable farming practices and the journey from bean to cup. After a delicious lunch at the lodge, we continue our journey to Matagalpa, where you’ll check into your accommodation. The afternoon is reserved for a walking tour of the city, allowing you to soak in the local atmosphere before a well-deserved dinner.

Day 2: Chasing waterfalls

After breakfast, we’ll drive to Cascada Blanca, a spectacular waterfall where you can admire the powerful cascades and enjoy the serene surroundings. Following a refreshing lunch, our journey takes us to the beautiful Cascada de la Luna, another hidden gem perfect for stunning photos. In the late afternoon, we’ll check into our cabins in the misty mountains of Macizo, where a warm dinner awaits.

Day 3: The cloud forest and sweet treats

Today is all about nature and discovery. Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a hike through the misty cloud forest of Macizo. Your guide will point out unique flora and share insights about the ecosystem. After our hike and lunch, we’ll have a quick stop at Fresa Nica, Nicaragua's only strawberry plantation, for a tour and a fresh smoothie. The day concludes with a scenic drive to Somoto, where we’ll check into our eco-lodge for a relaxing dinner and well-earned rest.

Day 4: Canyoning and artistic farewells

On our final day, we start with an unforgettable canyoning tour in the spectacular Somoto Canyon, where you'll swim, hike, and explore the river surrounded by ancient rock formations. After this epic adventure and a final lunch in Somoto, we’ll head towards Estelí. Here, we'll visit the fascinating Finca Jalacate, a farm with impressive rock carvings and a unique artistic history. Finally, we’ll drive to León, where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner before you settle into your accommodation for the night.
